Accidentally Overweight

There is a slim chance that we were actually taught how to maintain a healthy slender body. More than likely, we haphazardly learned from our childhood, school, eating out at restaurants, and TV.

Even at our grocery stores, we are seduced by the packages promising us good health with added vitamins, low fat, and gluten free.  However, when they reduce the fat and the gluten, they often replace it with carbohydrates.

They do not have your health in mind before their profits.

But what does the grams of carbs on labels really mean? Here’s a way to put it into perspective:

4 gram of carbs = 1 teaspoon of sugar!!!

Check your labels!  Calculate just how much sugar is in your normal food choices! Take a favourite snack, like a granola bar of 24 grams of carbs, divide that by 4 and you will discover that snack has 6 teaspoons of sugar.

Ray D. Strand, MD, author of “Death By Prescription,” pointed out the lack of education about nutrition when he reported: “In medical school I had not received any significant instruction on the subject. I was not alone. Only approximately six percent of the graduating physicians in the United States have any training in nutrition.”

“Good nutrition will prevent 95 percent of all disease.” – Linus Pauling, two time Nobel Laureate

That was then; this is now.  Okay, so unfortunately many of us just didn’t get good training of how to eat to live and be slender our whole life.

Are you willing to settle?

Obviously many are, because the growing trend of our obesity epidemic hasn’t stopped… yet.  No one else is going to do it for you.  No one is going to force you. So that means it is time to get into the driver’s seat.

Because we cannot see inside our bodies, we don’t realize what we are doing on the inside.  We can see outwardly how we are compromising our body by the excess weight, but we cannot see how we are compromising our long term health on the inside.

We are either moving forward or backward.  There is no standing still.  Nothing in the universe stands still.  What direction are you headed for?

Personally, during most of my life, I hadn’t learned how to do proper food combining.  I also wasn’t taught in my formative years how to manage my emotions without the conditioning of comfort food.  Nor did I learn about how our body stores fat, or how to release fat by resetting the pancreas on a ketogenic diet.

That is, until I took charge of my own health.  I achieved success and let go of 25 pounds. It is almost 3 years later and I have still maintained my goal weight.  Now I have been dedicated to helping others take back their own health and well-being.
